March 6- Allie Jones signed to play basketball with Walters State.
Jones signed to further her education and to play basketball with the Walters State Lady Senators. Allie signed in front of family, friends, school officials, teammates, coaches and media. In addition to her business marketing degree, she plans on furthering her education and becoming a pharmaceutical rep. Allie thanked her past and current coaches, teammates and mentioned her former coach Ariel Nickell for always being there for her.
Jasmin Coleman is the Women’s Basketball Coach at Walters State Community College. She was named the 2022-23 TCCAA Coach of the Year for her outstanding leadership and contributions to the team and had this to say about Jones and basketball at the next level, “Allie is perfect for us as she has everything, we are looking for in a student athlete.”
Coleman also addressed the athletes in the room saying, “If you are wanting to reach the next level it is going to take hard work and dedication now. It’s not going to be cookies and cupcakes like it is here, today.”
Jones is a thousand-point plus scorer for the Lady Bulldogs.
