The Claiborne High School Bulldogs hosted Thomas Walker, September 24. It was also homecoming for the Bulldogs.

It was warm and sunny when the fans were assembling but as soon as the sun dropped below the horizon, long sleeves and jackets came out. No fans on either side of the field was thinking one team would run away with this one but the visiting Pioneers did just that.

The Bulldogs struck first on a Landen Wilson run but failed on the conversion try. From that point on the Bulldogs couldn’t find anything in their playbook that worked.

The Pioneers scored and made the two point conversion and that began a long night for the Bulldogs. Thomas Walker scored on runs and passes finishing up with a pleasant bus ride back home with the 36-6 win.

During halftime, the candidates for homecoming queen were announced and in total they raised $7,437.08 for Claiborne athletics. Maddilynn Ayers was the Freshman Princess, Allie Jones was the Sophomore Princess, Junior Princess was Hannah Fugate, Senior Princess was Lindsey Powell and the 2021 Claiborne High School Homecoming Queen was Megan Yeary.

Claiborne will travel to and battle the Longhorns of Johnson County next Friday night.
