The Claiborne Blue Battalion Band is on the road for a state marching band championship. Our competition season starts this Saturday (9/25), where we’ll face some fierce competition from well established Knoxville area bands at the Clinch River Classic in Clinton, TN On Saturday 10/2, we’ll travel to Hardin Valley Academy to face off against regional action against bands from all over East Tennessee and Southeast Kentucky at the Spirit of the Valley invitational competition in Knoxville.
After a couple of weeks to add some more excitement to the show (and several exciting football games) we’ll hit the road for the Walden Ridge Band Festival and Competition in Harriman, TN.
We’ll have one final week to refine the show before we head off to the Tennessee State Marching Band Championships in Smyrna, TN.
At this competition, 20 of the best bands from across the entire state of Tennessee will face off for a state title. This competition isn’t based on band size, but on school size, so we will be competitive against bands half our size and some more than double our size. This competition is all about the best of the best pulling out all the stops for a shot at a state title.
