Cumberland Gap battled Pigeon Forge, Lady Panthers victorious

Cumberland Gap battled Pigeon Forge, January 14. Up first were the junior varsity boys and they were down 25-17 at the half and didn’t make the comeback happen losing 36-29. Isaac Brown scored 11 to lead the Panthers and Ethan Powell had seven. Noah Yonts dropped in five, Gavin Owens had four and Braden Painter had two. Leading the Tigers was Ashton Creswell with nine points.

The first varsity game featured the Lady Panthers and Lady Tigers. Cumberland Gap was down 16-11 at the half and came back to win 43-27. Emrey Glover dropped in 16 to lead the Lady Panthers in scoring and Abbie Fultz also made it in double figures with 11. Brynlee Foster had six, Gracie Nash and Kylie Fultz both had four and Hayden Beeler had two points. Coral Powell led the Lady Tigers with 10 points.

During the varsity boys’ game, Cumberland Gap had a slow start and scored 12 points in the first half as opposed to the Tigers’ 27. Pigeon Forge moved on out to win 60-37. Gavin Owens stepped up big time and led the Panthers in scoring with 12. Trace Provins had seven, Kaleb Powers along with Hyrum Hinkley had five, Elijah Lawson had three, Lance Owens had two as did Aiden Jackson. Andy Osborne completed the total with a single point. Pigeon Forge was led by Tanner Robinson and Aidan Lacey both with 13.
