Cumberland Gap softball versus GP

Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers defeated Gatlinburg-Pittman 12-4 thanks to a strong start. Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers scored on a single by Kerry Dixon and a single by Alexia Norris in the first inning.

Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers scored five runs in the second inning. Sidney McWilliams, Hayden Beeler, Dixon, Maddie Stevens, and Lily Norris each drove in runs during the inning.

Dixon was in the circle for Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers. The righty lasted five innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out four and walking one.

Bailey Norris was in the pitcher’s circle for Gatlinburg-Pittman. The bulldog allowed 16 hits and 12 runs over four innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers had 16 hits in the game. Beeler, Halle Greene, Dixon, McWilliams, Norris, and Stevens all had multiple hits for Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers. Beeler went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers in hits. Greene led Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

Gatlinburg-Pittman totaled six hits. Trystin Carr and Kirby Mccollister all collected multiple hits for Gatlinburg-Pittman.

Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers notched three runs in the second inning. Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers batters contributing to the big inning included Maddie Stevens and Halle Greene, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Bailey Norris led things off on the rubber for Gatlinburg-Pittman. The ace surrendered three runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Lacey Gulley was on the rubber for Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers. The righthander surrendered four runs on three hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one.

Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers socked one home run on the day. Stevens had a solo homer in the second inning!

Lily Norris led Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers with two hits in two at bats.

Gatlinburg-Pittman didn’t commit a single error in the field. Trystin Carr had the most chances in the field with five.
