The McDowell Gear & Machine, Girl Student of the Month as Nominated by Danny Satterfield is Brianna Goins.
Brianna Goins was selected as the Cumberland Gap Athlete of the week Aug. 29 thru Sept. second, and she has met all benchmarks for the ACT. Goins has completed or enrolled in 21 hours of Dual Enrollment at Walter’s State Community College all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Also, she was just recently crowned fairest of the fair at the Claiborne County Fair. Congratulations Brianna.
The McDowell Gear & Machine, Boy Student of the Month as Nominated by Melissa Brock is Emmitt Butter. H.Y. Livesay’s Emmitt Butter is nominated for being helpful in the classroom and being friendly to all students, for showing empathy to a student in need by putting himself in their shoes. He is a model student in and out of the classroom and is a leader to his fellow classmates. Congratulations Emmitt!
