Myatt’s two homeruns, six RBI and great pitching from Mase propels Bulldogs to win

March 21- Claiborne High School baseball hosted Clay County and the Bulldogs fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first. With one swing, Tyler Myatt tied it with a no-doubt smash to right with two on base. During the top of the second, the Tigers failed to get anything going. It was the same for Claiborne leaving the score knotted up at three.

Claiborne took care of the Tigers in the top of the third and Claiborne had Ty Pryse and Joe Houser on the base pads and just like the earlier inning, Myatt smashed another three-run blast making the scoreboard read 6-3. During the top of the fourth, Clay County singled in one run, making it 6-4.

The Bulldogs had bases loaded in the sixth but failed to get an insurance run; however, In the top of the seventh, Clay County had one on with no outs. Mase pitched two consecutive strikeouts and were trying to get the final out, but the Tigers had runners on the corners. The final out was a long fly to center, and Claiborne won 6-4. Derek Mase finished with eight strikeouts and pitched a complete game. Click on the link below for videos and photos from the game. Please be sure to subscribe to the YouTube channel.
