The Zone’s First Responder of the Month, presented by Randall Smith: Roy Lee Sewell Jr.

Roy Lee Sewell Jr.

The Zone was overcome with requests and nominations for this months’ First Responder of the Month. This hero was nominated by multiple people. Sadly, Roy Lee Sewell lost his life in service of others.

Roy Lee Sewell Jr. age 27, of Tazewell Tennessee was born August 29, 1995, in Altamonte Springs Florida and passed away April 24, 2023, while in the line of duty with the North Tazewell Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a dedicated husband, father, brother, and son. He loved The Lord, his family, and serving his community. Sewell cherished the time with his wife and little girl. Roy will always be remembered for his fun spirit, kind heart, and how much he loved and encouraged everyone around him. Roy worked at Walmart, New Tazewell and for the Fire Department which gave him the opportunity to meet and get to know countless people and touch the lives of more than we could ever know.

The Zone is proud to name Sewell the First Responder of the Month and along with the community, we offer our love and support to his family. Thank you to Randall Smith for providing this recognition.
