Panthers travel to Cosby to open the 2023 football season

August 18- Cosby High School hosted the Cumberland Gap Panthers football team to get the new season underway. The Panthers were a team low on player numbers but with a lot of talent. Cumberland Gap held a slight advantage in rankings as the two teams began their battle. The Panthers led 14-6 at the half in part to the offensive efforts of Hunter Sturgill. Coming out of the locker room Cosby was a different football team. The rushing attack out of the QB position hurt Cumberland Gap and the Eagles came back to win 28-14. Hunter Gibson and Aiden Peters both had interceptions for the Panthers.
