The third 2025 inductee into the Claiborne County Sports Hall of Fame presented by Matt Compton, State Farm is Neta Munsey. Munsey attended Lincoln Memorial University and Married Ronnie Munsey. The two started a family and Neta began a career within the school system serving until 2011. She was a businesswoman but had a deep love of sport through playing and watching her kids. She coached basketball at SMMS and Claiborne High, even becoming the athletic director. Munsey was a founding member of the Celebrate Recovery program, was on the board for Habitat for Humanity, and a founding member of Build a Better Claiborne. Learning from her experiences and guiding her players on the court, she began working in politics trying hard to make Claiborne County Schools the best they could be. Neta sadly passed away, September 12, 2025, but she was loved by many and will never be forgotten.
