December 16- The second day of the varsity basketball tournament featured three games. The first one was a boys contest between H.Y. Livesay and Forge Ridge. A slow start by both teams turned into a 32-18 victory by the Eagles. Bentlee Lewis led Livesay with seven, Jackson Dixon had six, Kellen Bolinger had five. Norris Cadle dropped in four and three others scored two including Caleb Powell, Hudson Wilder and Braycen Miracle. Preston Johnson led the Dragons with 10. Max Collingsworth and Cayden Littrell had two and Lucas Leonard scored one.

Game two was a matchup on the girl’s side of the bracket between Livesay and the Lady Dragons of Forge Ridge. The Lady Eagles took little time settling in and ran off to a 16-0 first period advantage. Forge Ridge came on strong in the fourth period, but it was too little, too late. Livesay behind 13 points from Elle Harris and nine points from Lexi Dison won 38-10. Kenzleigh Gulley and Trinitie Smith had four each and four others had two including Carlie Jones, Chloe Sharp, Josie Lawson and Raylynn Parker. Paislee Parker led Forge Ridge with four and three others scored two including Makena Earl, Trinity Brown and Hannah Booth.

The final game of the night was Soldier’s Memorial versus Clairfield. The Blue Devis had a quick start and led 23-2 after one period of play. The Eagles had their best period during the fourth, scoring 10; however, it was not enough and SMMS won 56-10. Ethan Goins led SMMS with 13. Braxton Lovin had 12. Peyton Eldridge had seven. Noah Chumley and Trevaur Taylor both had six. Braxden Ferrell had four and four others scored two including Andy Duff, Drake Huston, Jamison Cottrell, and Jacob Goodin. Bryson Hightower Led the Eagles with five, Brantley Underwood had three and Carson Underwood had two.
