The girl student of the month is nominated by Amanda Walker Brooks. Brooks nominated Emily Peters and said this about her, “Emily is a sixth grader at SMMS. She is just an outstanding student whose enthusiasm for learning is infectious. She goes above and beyond what is asked of her in academics, and she enjoys participating in band. She is just an all-around great kid who is a joy to teach and a friend to everyone!” Congratulations Emily.
Mrs. Collingsworth, also from SMMS nominated Vincent Greene. She spoke highly of him saying, “Vincent is an excellent student who is so kind to all students. He is very respectful and works so hard in class. He is friends with all the kids and never places judgment on those around him. He goes above and beyond to show kindness to all.” Congratulations Vincent.
Both students will be entered to win one of two 100-dollar Walmart gift cards courtesy of McDowell Gear & Machine and Claiborne County Sports Zone at the end of the school year.
